Monthly Maintenance and Support
- 24/7 Support: Continuous assistance for EEHR software, diagnostic equipment, and connectivity issues.
- Immediate Feedback: Quick resolution of IT-related concerns.
Equipment Requirements
- The sophistication of your diagnostic equipment can significantly impact initial costs. Procul Cura™ recommends minimizing expenses until you are comfortable with the process, allowing you to grasp equipment limitations and opportunities for upgrades.
- We have negotiated discounts with various vendors and will provide recommendations. You may purchase equipment from any source, provided our technicians confirm compatibility with our remote exam software and any existing EEHRs.
Internet Requirements
- Internet Speed: You may need to upgrade your current internet speed or switch carriers to meet connectivity specifications.
- In-House Evaluation: Assessment of recommended connectivity needs. Evaluation of connectivity from your home, hospital, or any remote location for remote care.
- Vacation Connectivity: Connectivity will be assessed before your vacation planning. If secure connectivity is unavailable, alternative options will be explored.
- International Connectivity: Secure internet connection can be provided from most international locations upon request. Note: Additional fees may apply.
Planning for Remote Ophthalmology
Use this guide to prepare for a practice-specific technical discussion. You can complete the free introduction with what you know today and select “Unsure” where available.
Equipment and imaging
List the diagnostic equipment and imaging systems you use, including model names if available. Note how images are stored, viewed, and shared. Compatibility must be confirmed before purchasing or replacing equipment.
Staff and technician workflow
Describe who prepares the patient, operates diagnostic equipment, assists during the remote visit, and handles technical issues. These responsibilities and training needs should be agreed as part of implementation.
Connectivity at both ends
Include the practice and the locations where the physician expects to connect. The technical assessment should consider connection reliability, upload and download capacity, network configuration, and contingency options.
EHR and system compatibility
Identify your EHR, imaging software, and current IT support contact. Connection options depend on system versions, vendor permissions, and the agreed scope. A listed vendor name alone does not confirm compatibility.
Limitations and planning
Exact equipment and bandwidth requirements depend on the proposed workflow. Remote care suitability, available staff, and the services that need in-person care must be considered for each practice.
Support expectations
Discuss support coverage, escalation contacts, maintenance, training, and any additional vendor or connectivity costs before implementation.
No equipment purchase or detailed technical specification is needed to introduce your practice.
